This dry white chardonnay has crisp tropical fruit flavors with hints of nectarine, melon and citrus. It pairs well with most dishes, try a chicken stir-fry or grilled fish.

Not sure what to serve with Thanksgiving dinner? Why not celebrate this uniquely American holiday with some great American wines? Here are a few suggestions.

PhotoAppetizers
Nothing gets guests in the mood to celebrate like a bottle of bubbly. Try Schramsberg NV Mirabelle Brut from California. For a festive touch, drop a hibiscus flower into the bottom of each champagne flute before filling. Jars of the edible blooms in syrup are available from Wild Hibiscus.

The Main Event
Red—Pinot Noir is rich enough to stand up to flavorful favorites like stuffing, but not so overwhelming that it drowns out more subtle flavors of roasted turkey. Try Benton Lane Pinot Noir 2003 from Oregon.

Serving your bird grilled or smoked? The bigger flavors mean you can opt for a jammy Red Zinfandel, such as the crowd-pleasing Gallo of Sonoma Reserve Zinfandel 2004 from California.

White—an oaky Chardonnay works well with seasonal herbs like sage and thyme. Try the Rombauer Chardonnay 2005 from California.

Another great match for turkey is an aromatic Riesling, such as Ch. Ste. Michelle Eroica Riesling 2006 from Washington state. The slight sweetness of the wine makes it a great match for sweet potatoes, too.

Dessert
Spicy treats such as pumpkin or apple pie taste amazing with a sweet Muscat. For something a little unusual, try Quady Essensia Orange Muscat 2005, a California wine made from rare Orange Muscat grapes. – J. Lieberman
